Jigsaw Reading:

1. Go to the website Christmas around the World ( http://www.the-north-pole.com/around/ ), use the links provided to read texts about Christmas
celebrations in different countries, choose six of them, and make copies of each text.

2. Divide the whole class into small groups of six, and have each of the six members in each group choose one of the six texts to read.

3. Form six experts groups, in each of which students coming from different groups but reading the same text gather together to study and discuss the text.

4. Have students return to their home groups and take turns to teach their group members the main ideas they have learned from the text they read.

5. Have students take a quiz that involves all the six texts used in this activity.
